Assignment of responsibilities, sent by Joyce Lin on 03/17/2004:

Hi all,

Ok I've gotten enough replies to get the ball rolling... I'd wait longer but I'm in Texas these two weeks & not sure if I'll have access to the internet starting tomorrow. =P

I'm dishing out jobs according to your replies. Unless anything changes, Matt Libby (mlibby@alum) and Bryan Bilyeu (bcblue@alum) will be the points of contact from here on out. =)

*** 1 - choosing songs

It was brought up that perhaps the people choosing songs should be in Boston so they could look through a pile of songs together. However, most xprod songs are in noteworthy format, so it is possible for people outside of boston to have input on this. The noteworthy song files are all in the crossp locker.

Ryan - can you put the songs in a nonlinked http-readable folder & send the link out to the people on this list?

So far, Becky,Derek,Matt, bcblue,David Robison, and I are interested in having some sort of input on song selection.. and Dan Shiau has already suggested a list of songs, which I will forward to Matt & bcblue. Matt & bcblue -- can you guys hash out how the song selection is going to be done?

Criteria I was thinking of: simple, relatively well known to xprods, somewhat spread out over the years. If any of you have song suggestions, I guess you can e-mail Matt & bcblue. Song selection should hopefully be done in the next few weeks.

*** 2 - email alum list, asking people to reply with 1) whether they want to participate, and if so, 2) what part they sing, 3) where they are living right now

This job goes to Matt

*** 3 - put requested songs into noteworthy format, if needed

This job goes to Dan Shiau .. and Dan, xprod is about to go on spring break, so make sure you have the combo to the office before they leave so you can pick up the music.

*** 4 - once songs are picked, distribute the noteworthy files to the alums. keep track of which alums are singing which song (if applicable). later on, e- mail participating alums the list of alums participating + their e-mails and where they live (so that ppl who aren't in Boston, DC, or LA can see if they live close enough to someone to practice with them).

This job also goes to Matt. I forget whether you have access to the crossp locker.. if not Ryan can help with down/uploading files if needed.

*** 5 - Organize practices in your area
Boston - bcblue
DC - Matt
LA - David Robison

*** 6 - Concert day - yes, we should plan to practice a good bit w/ everyone before the concert begins. ;)

Ryan - could you coordinate with xprod to get a small room we could practice in? usually xprod reserves a small room near the concert room, so perhaps we could just use that. if not we need to reserve one.

Matt & bcblue - I guess you guys can decide who's going to be directing the songs. Also, these ppl have already replied that they can participate.. so when Matt sends out the e-mail to everyone requesting info, you guys don't need to reply to him:

Dan Shiau, bass, Boston
Ryan Lee, bass, Boston
Joyce (me), alto, DC
David Robison, bass or tenor, LA
Tony Eng (maybe), tenor, Boston
Becky & Derek (Matt you have their info already)

ok thanks if you've read up to this point. =D hopefully this will be the last long e-mail from me. ;)
